After Apple's big event, it's probably prudent to find out the estimated trade-in value of your current iPhone (or Apple Watch, or any other product that gets refreshed at the event) in the case that you want to, you know, get a new one.

Of course, there are caveats to this. For example, even new-ish iPhones will only get you so much, as the site lists the iPhone 14 Pro Max as having an estimated trade-in value of $650. It goes all the way back to the iPhone 7, which clocks in at a rousing $40. And yes, these are technically estimates; you could go to an Apple Store and theoretically get less than is listed here.

Point being, though, that you can at least get an ideaof how much the iPhone 15 will run you with a viable trade-in. Given how much phones cost these days, that never hurts.
