As of Oct. 5, Max subscribers will be able to stream live sports for free. That includes everything from the new NHL season launch to MLB post-season games. All of this content can be streamed without paying extra through Feb. 29. After that, subscribers will need to pay up to the tune of an additional $9.99 per month.

By the time your favorite team hits the court, you'll have to pony up that additional monthly fee. Max's least expensive, ad-supported tier costs $9.99 per month, so with the cost of the sports add-on, you'll pay $19.98 monthly.
Sure, it's a little sneaky to get you hooked on the service before hitting you with an extra fee, but if you've cut the cable cord and need a reliable hub for the big games in 2024, this is still an affordable way to go about it.
