The official Twitter account for the U.S. Department of Defense briefly joined The Resistance on Thursday, retweeting someone straight up calling for Donald Trump to resign.

The tweet, written by Twitter user @ProudResister, addressed sexual assault allegations facing Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore, Sen. Al Franken, and Trump himself — calling on Moore to step down from the Senate race, and Franken and Trump to resign.

ProudResister then addressed the GOP, saying, "Stop making sexual assault a partisan issue. It's a crime as is your hypocrisy."

After the retweet was removed, Pentagon spokesman, Col. Rob Manning, told The Associated Press the action was accidental and that the content of the tweet "would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense."

Manning added that the authorized operator of the Department of Defense's Twitter page "caught this error and immediately deleted it." Though, as Washington Examinereditor Dave Brown noted, retweets dooootake a bit of effort.
