Relationship Goals was developed in response to a shift in Tinder users, especially young singles, according to vice president of core product Kyle Miller in a press release. As revealed in Tinder's 2022 Year in Swipe, 73 percent of users aged 18-25 want someone who is clear about what they want. Tinder members have six options to choose from: Long-term partner; Long-term, Open to short; Short-term, Open to long; Short-term fun; New Friends; or Still figuring it out.
Tap into your profile settings to choose a goal; you can choose one at a time, but can change it whenever you'd like. You'll receive a prompt every week checking in to see if your Relationship Goals is still what you're looking for, as priorities can shift quickly.
As you swipe, you'll be able to see what potential matches have selected in order to match others with aligned goals.
The rollout of Relationship Goals begins today for all U.S. users, and will be available globally by Jan. 5.
