Central Ave. in Little Tokyo, will host a conversation with Katie Kitamura, one of The Telegraph’s“Five Young Novelists for 2013” and a finalist for the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Fiction Award, on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m.
Kitamura will discuss her newest book, “Gone to the Forest” (Simon & Schuster), which made the 2012 “best book” lists of The New Yorker, The Financial Timesand TheSan Francisco Chronicle.
From the critically acclaimed author of “The Longshot” comes a gripping saga about the destruction of a family, a home, and a way of life. “The Longshot” (2009), her debut novel, follows a former mixed martial arts star and his longtime coach over the course of three fraught days as they prepare for his momentous comeback match. It is currently being developed into a feature film by actor/director/writer/producer Peter Berg.
