The draft proposes that social media users should take the initiative to apply dedicated labels to any content that has been generated by AI, while adding that any organization and individuals should not “maliciously” delete or conceal “AI-generated” labels. Platforms will also be tasked with providing tools or services to carry out the clear labeling of such content. Mainstream Chinese social platforms such as TikTok sibling Douyin already require creators to label artificial intelligence-generated content to avoid confusing viewers.
