
In observance of AAPI Heritage Month, on Wednesday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dr. Dana Nakano, a fourth-generation Japanese American from Orange County, will discuss “Enduring Patterns of Anti-Asian Sentiment” at Pacific Oaks College.
Nakano, a sociology professor at CSU Stanislaus, recently published a book, “Japanese Americans and the Racial Uniform: Citizenship, Belonging, and the Limits of Assimilation.” Last year he contributed an article, “Patterns of Hate in Asian American History” to the special “Stop Asian Hate” edition of The Rafu Shimpo.
